International Education Services, LLC (IES), founded in 2006, provides unique experiences in international education through the creation of innovative programs focused on professional development for educators and business professionals and in-depth learning for students. Our mission is to increase global and cultural awareness that meets and exceeds the requirements mandated by state and national education policies. (Section 10-27 of the Connecticut General Statutes):

“It shall be the policy of the state to encourage its students, teachers, administrators and educational policy makers to participate in international studies, international exchange programs, and other activities that advance cultural awareness and promote mutual understanding and respect for citizens of other countries.”

Mary Goetter has extensive experience initiating, developing, and implementing unique programs in international education. Prior to establishing IES, Ms. Goetter served as the Director of Education Programs for the World Affairs Council of Connecticut for ten years, managing the Council’s programs aimed at students, including the Model UN for CT high school students, UN Education for 5th and 6th grade students and the Academic World Quest. In addition, Ms. Goetter initiated, developed, secured funding grants and directed international curriculum development projects in China, South Africa and Puerto Rico, providing CT teachers with a greater understanding of the world beyond our borders.
